Staff Bios

Steven P. Kohn (Chief Executive Officer and President)

Steve Kohn has filled the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of USL for over twenty (20) years. USL developed a niche market in the Hospitality Industry and conducts direct sales and marketing at venues in hotels and resorts around the United States. During his tenure, Steve has taken USL from a small, home-based operation to an award-winning TOP 100 Florida Business.

USL has been recognized in the past by the University of Florida as being one of the Fastest Growing 100 Businesses in the state, as well as being awarded the title of Fastest Growing, Family-Owned Business in Florida.. In addition, USL was spotlighted as one of The Best Companies for Working Families by the "Orlando Sentinel".

Steve Kohn has been recognized for his business leadership contributions at local and national levels. He has received commendations from the current and past President of the United States, current and past governors of Florida and The Orlando Chamber of Commerce. He has also received recognition from the accounting firm of Ernst and Young and the law firm of Holland and Knight for his entrepreneurial approach to business. Mr. Kohn serves on the Board of Stepping Stone, an organization whose mission it is to provide enhanced independence, dignity and quality of life by providing medical equipment to those in need.

Mr. Kohn has always been a staunch contributor to community organizations. His dedication to these groups has resulted in his being recognized by the American Heart Association, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Jewish Community Center, Habitat for Humanity, the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation and several others. He is a corporate sponsor of the U. S. Army Ranger Competition and supports our men and women in uniform.

Lynn Hardman-Craske (Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing)

Lynn Craske joined USL in May, 2002, as National Sales Manager and was promoted to her current position in 2005. Her responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing and hiring our sales team, as well as to spearhead our expansion into new cities. Through her leadership and guidance, USL has grown from the State of Florida to Atlanta, Savannah, Myrtle Beach, Nashville, Baltimore, Washington DC, Boston, Dallas, San Antonio, San Diego, Denver, and Branson, Missouri.

Lynn brought a strong business background with her to USL and a business degree from Florida State University with emphasis on Merchandising and Marketing. Her accomplishments include: having a consulting business that sold products to Home Shopping Network, H.O.T. TV, the Shopping Channel in Canada and HSN Europe in Germany.

Ms. Craske serves her community as a member of the Board of Trustees and the Chair for Les Fauves at the Gulf Coast Museum of Art.

Linda S, Phinisey (Senior Trainer)

Linda Phinisey joined the USL team in June 2004, as a sales representative. In short time, based on her stunning performance, Linda was quickly promoted to Senior Trainer.

Ms. Phinisey a most interesting business background, including being the first Director of Student Services for the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, AZ. From there, Linda undertook creating the first natural childbirth program for obstetrics in Phoenix. From Arizona, Linda came to Clearwater, Florida, to pursue the operation and management of an internationally-based franchise that became the number one business of its kind. Linda holds a BA degree in Art Design from the University of Arizona.

Linda rounds out her life by being very active in the Heritage United Methodist Church, as a fair-housing investigator in her community and as a volunteer with Florida Suncoast Hospice.

Tom Alford (Trainer)

Tom Alford became a member of the USL family in late 2005. Recently, Tom was promoted to become our Manager for the State of California. .Holding a BS Degree from the University of Oklahoma in Marketing, Tom has developed a solid business resume, including Clairol and Prince Matchabelli, a division of Cheesebrough-Ponds. Prior to joining USL, Tom has his own successful manufacturers’ rep business specializing in women’s accessories and personal care items. Tom is married and has three grown children.

Jim Stetser (Resorts Sales Manager/Trainer)

Joined the USL sales team in May 2006 and was promoted to Resorts Sales Manager in January 2007. 20+ years background in sales, marketing, training and management. Jim was responsible for sales office locations in Illinois, Ohio, Texas, and several locations in Florida. Also owned and operated a successful collectibles and memorabilia business for for over 5 years here in Florida. Attended Edison Community College. Jim is happily married to Daphne and has a beautiful daughter Brittany.

Jen Kohn (Convention and Hospitality Event Coordinator)

Jennifer Kohn has had a lustrous career with USL. She has served the company for 11 years. She has done secretarial work, served directly to the CEO, worked in Sales and Marketing, and currently spears head of our Convention and Hospitality Market division.

Q. What do I do if my credit card charge appears incorrect?

A. Please call our Customer Service Line, toll free, at 1/800-793-7467, and one of our Customer Service personnel will be happy to assist you.

Q. How do I get information on my Special Order merchandise from an event or my online orders?

A. Again, please call Customer Service. Most often, we will give you a tracking number which will enable you to track your package via UPS or another carrier. In a few cases, when your item hasn’t yet shipped, we’ll be able to give you an estimated shipping time.

Q. What do I do if I lose my jewelry?

A. USL provides you with an Insurance Policy for lost or stolen jewelry. If this should occur, we will replace your item for 25% of your original purchase price plus $14.95 for shipping, handling and processing. Just call Customer Service, and we’ll make the arrangements with you. Please remember that this is a one-time policy.

Q. How can I exchange my jewelry?

A. USL provides a Lifetime Equity Exchange Program for our customers. This policy allows you to exchange your jewelry purchase for the same or any piece of Equity Fashion Jewelry or Solid Gold Jewelry we offer. We will always credit you with 100% of your original purchase price.

  1. If the item you choose for exchange is of lesser cost, you will receive a Gift Certificate for the difference, less $14.95 for shipping, handling and processing.
  2. If the item you choose cost more, then we will ask you to pay the difference, plus $14.95 for shipping, handling and processing.

To create the exchange, please find the item you desire on this web site. When you know what you want, please call Customer Service and tell them what you want. They will make arrangements with you to return your current jewelry and receive your new jewelry.

A. USL offers a variety of different types of jewelry, including gold-bonded jewelry, vermeil, sterling silver, titanium, tungsten, stainless steel, gem stones, pearls, semi-precious stones and more.

  1. GOLD-BONDED JEWELRY: 40 to 100 mils of 24k gold bonded (10 times more gold than standard gold electroplate) over diamond-cut brass.
  2. VERMEIL: 14k gold over Sterling Silver
  3. STERLING SILVER: minimum of 925/1000ths of pure silver
  4. TITANIUM: a recent addition to the jewelry industry, it is admired for its unique appearance and maximum strength. Lighter than steel, yet three times stronger, titanium is not combined with other metal alloys. It weighs 1/3 less than gold and is highly resistant to dents and bending.
